Kostas Spyrou is NTUA’s Professor of Ship Dynamic Stability and Safety and ex-Dean of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
Nikos Themelis is NTUA's Assistant Professor of ship performance assessment. He is a Naval Architect & Marine Engineer, graduated from NTUA in 2002. He received his PhD degree from the same university, for his thesis on the probabilistic assessment of ship dynamic stability (2008). He worked for several years as a PhD and later as a postdoctoral researcher at NTUA on several EU and national projects related with ship dynamics and safety.
Manolis Angelou is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer who graduated from NTUA in 2008. He received the PhD degree from NTUA, for his thesis on the subject of the manoeuvring behaviour of a yacht in waves incorporating the forces at the sails using a fluid-structure interaction model (2019). Recently he has been elected an Assistant Professor of marine hydrodynamics in NTUA.
Panagiotis Anastopoulos is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer who graduated from NTUA in 2012. He studies towards a PhD in the assessment of ship stability under stochastic wave excitation modelled by wave groups theory.
Ioannis Kontolefas is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer who graduated from NTUA in 2013. He currently studies towards the PhD degree in the field of nonlinear dynamics of surf-riding and manoeuvring under multichromatic wave excitation.
Ioanna Koromila is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer who graduated from NTUA in 2013. She currently studies towards the PhD degree on the subject of "integrated risk indices for safe ship design and operation". The PhD research is carried out in cooperation with the National center for scientific research "Demokritos" and supported by Eugenides Foundation scholarship for Doctoral Candidates.
Vicky Margari is a 2017 NTUA graduate in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. She is currently a PhD candidate. The topic of her research is ship maneuverability behavior in rough seas.
Dimitris Tsoumpelis is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer who graduated from NTUA in 2021. In March 2021 he starterd studying towards the PhD degree in the field of probabilistic assessment of ship stability in waves.

Christos Spandonidis is an Electronics and Communications Engineer, graduate of the Hellenic Air Force Academy. He received the PhD degree from NTUA, for his thesis on the behaviour of granular materials under excitations caused by ship's motion in waves, applying mathematical modelling based on discrete elements as well as experimental techniques (2016).
Ioannis Tigkas is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, elected Assistant Professor at the University of West Attica (Athens). He graduated in 2000 with BEng (1st Class) from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and in 2001 with MSc (with Distinction) from the same university. He also holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the Cass Business School of the City University of London. His PhD Thesis (NTUA, 2009) in nonlinear ship dynamics in wind and in longitudinal seas was supported by the A.S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation.
